Motorola has unveiled the Signature 27, a flagship smartphone with a starting MSRP of $1,599, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and a 7,000mAh battery. The company detailed the device on November 5 and said it will reach markets worldwide in the coming months, without specifying local sale dates.

The price puts the emphasis on what the hardware can deliver, rather than an immediate buying decision: regional availability remains to be announced. Several of the most striking specifications also carry qualifications, including a 100x zoom mode powered by AI and a peak screen-brightness figure measured under narrowly defined conditions.

The camera system combines a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera with the 200MP telephoto. The telephoto lens provides 3x optical zoom; the advertised 100x Super Zoom Pro is not 100x optical magnification.

In its official launch announcement, Motorola also describes a dedicated Event Vision Sensor for motion photography. The sensor detects changes in light intensity at individual pixels, independently of the main camera sensors, and works with an Action Shot feature. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not findings from an Eastern Herald camera test.

The display uses two emissive layers in a tandem AMOLED arrangement. Motorola advertises up to 12,000 nits of peak brightness, but its footnote specifies a 1% average pixel level. That figure should not be read as sustained brightness across the whole screen, and the company says actual performance may vary.

Power comes from a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform, paired with Motorola’s ArcticMesh cooling system. Whether that combination sustains its performance during extended gaming or video recording remains a question for independent testing, rather than a conclusion established by the announcement.

The battery’s typical capacity is 7,000mAh; its rated minimum capacity is 6,790mAh. Wired charging reaches 90W, while wireless charging supports 50W. The specified wired and wireless chargers are sold separately, and charging speeds depend on conditions and settings.

The launch is separate from the Moto One charging filing previously covered by Eastern Herald. That filing concerned another product name and should not be treated as evidence about the Signature 27’s specifications or retail package.

Motorola promises seven OS updates and up to seven years of security updates from the global launch date, with variations possible by market, network provider and model. It also says the Signature 27 will be its first device to support GrapheneOS, a security-focused operating system, while reserving further details for the coming months. Announced support does not establish that a downloadable release is available now.

For prospective buyers, the remaining practical questions are local pricing, sale dates and which software features will be available at launch. The Motorola announcement establishes the planned hardware and support commitments, not independently verified camera quality, battery endurance or a worldwide on-sale date.
