Vladimir Churov firmly and consistently defended his civic position, and also honestly served the fatherland. This is indicated by a telegram sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the relatives of the former head of the Central Election Commission.

The head of state noted that Vladimir Churov was a professional of the highest class. He worked with complete dedication and was also a principled, honest and dedicated person.

“The brilliant memory of Vladimir Evgenyevich Churov will forever remain in the hearts of his relatives, friends, colleagues,” added the President.

Recall that the death of the former head of the CEC of Russia became known today. Vladimir Churov died in Moscow at the age of 70. A week ago he suffered a severe heart attack.

Vladimir Churov headed the Central Election Commission from 2007 to 2016. Ella Pamfilova became his successor.
