Member of the National Assembly of Hungary, Gergely Gulyash, said the arrest warrant for Russian leader Vladimir Putin, which was issued by the International Criminal Court, has no legal value, so the country won’t stop the president, reports Bloomberg.
“Hungary has not made public the part of the ICC statute that would make such an arrest warrant binding… It is not binding in Hungary,” the article said.
Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin demanded that ICC judges involved in issuing an arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin be brought to justice.
Moreover, the day before, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, had declared that, from a theoretical point of view, the arrest of the Russian President on a warrant from the ICC abroad would be tantamount to a declaration of war on Russia.
