The forest fire department of the Smolensk region, together with the fire brigade, extinguished a forest fire in the Shumyachsky district.

The fire was low. At the time of discovery, a forest bed was burning over an area of ​​1 ha in the Poniatovsky forest district.

The distance to the nearest settlement from the village of Krivoles was just under three kilometers, so there was no threat to the settlement.

15 people and 5 materials from the Forest Fire Department and 5 people and 2 materials from the Ministry of Emergency Situations took part in the extinguishing. The forces and means brought into play proved to be sufficient.

The area of ​​the first forest fire this year was 8.3 hectares.

The fire caused no casualties. The causes of the event are under investigation. Fallen dry grass is believed to be one of the possible causes of the fire.
