Belgorod governor says three injured in blast

Three people were injured in an explosion in Belgorod, as a result of which a huge crater formed in the city street. About the state of the victims reported Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his telegram channel.

“Three injured, one person refused hospitalization, one resident diagnosed with closed brain injury, concussion, nothing life threatening, all necessary help is being given. And an elderly woman got sick, her blood pressure went up a lot. She was hospitalized and is now under the supervision of doctors,” Gladkov wrote.

He stressed that there were no fatalities.

Residents of the five-storey building that suffered from the explosion are staying with relatives and in a hotel. In the near future, it is planned to conduct a construction review of the supporting structures of the house and start restoration work. The damaged platform should be restored by Monday.

“Severe hardships fell on the people of Belgorod last night. Together, I think we will pass these tests,” Gladkov concluded.

On April 20, around 10:15 p.m., a powerful explosion thundered in Belgorod, as a result of which a huge crater formed at the intersection of Vatutin Avenue and Gubkin Street. The blast damaged an apartment building, parked cars and power lines. One of the cars was thrown onto the roof of the store.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported overnight that ammunition from a Su-34 plane fell on Belgorod. “On April 20, 2023, at around 10:15 p.m. Moscow time, during the flight of the Su-34 aircraft of the Aerospace Forces over the city of Belgorod, an abnormal descent of aviation ammunition occurred,” said indicated the department.
