Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

A change in the British monarch’s coronation food tradition

Contrary to the culinary traditions of this ceremony, the King Charles pie will not be prepared, as usual, from “lamprey” or “jalky”, which is very similar to eel.

And according to the New York Times, pork will replace that fish in King’s Pie.

The newspaper attributed the reason for this change in taste traditions followed by royal coronations to the great shortage of the number of “lamprey” fish.

The newspaper quoted archaeologist Andrew Armstrong as saying that the tradition of feeding the king “lamprey” fish dates back to the late 12th century, when it was plentiful in the River Severn.

After the ceremony, Charles and Camilla will set off in the four-ton golden royal carriage built for George III, the last monarch of the American colonies subject to Britain, back to Buckingham Palace in a one-mile-long procession of 4,000 soldiers from 39 countries in ceremonial uniforms.

Thousands of people are expected to take to the streets and the event will be watched by millions in homes and around the world on television.
