Munich – ponement of the Summer Olympics by one year causes problems for many athletes. The German top wrestler Denis Kudla, however, takes the new start for 2021 calmly.

“I do not care. I want to be an Olympic champion!, Replied the athlete from Schifferstadt in Rhineland-Palatinate to his sports director Jannis Zamanduridis when he informed him about the changes to the plan last week. Zamanduridis told the German Press Agency that he would save a corresponding cell phone message with the statement.

Kudla is one of the world’s best Greek-Roman wrestlers in the class up to 87 kilograms. In 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, he won the Olympic bronze medal, and a year later he was runner-up in Paris. Last year he won bronze in Nur-Sultan. In addition to Frank Stabler, Eduard Popp, Aline Rotter-Focken and Anna Schell, Kudla is already qualified for the Olympic Games in Japan.
