Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

5 million dollars US aid to Palestine

After massive cuts in financial aid two years ago, the United States now wants to support the Palestinians in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

The United States wanted to provide five million dollars (equivalent to around 4.6 million euros) “to Palestinian hospitals and households to meet urgent, life-saving needs in the fight against Covid-19,” wrote US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, on Thursday evening on Twitter.

The background of the US cuts was a political dispute. Since the US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in 2017, the Palestinians no longer accept the US as a neutral mediator in the conflict with Israel. You have cut all diplomatic contacts with the United States.
