100 problems threatening Manchester City’s glories – Reuters

– Published on:

The Premier League has charged Manchester City with more than 100 financial rule breaches after a four-year investigation and referred them to an independent panel for alleged rule breaches between 2009 and 2018. The Premier League have also accused Manchester City of failing to cooperate since the start of the investigation in December 2018, and the English club said they were “surprised” by the accusations and that they had a compelling body of evidence.

It is likely that the League will impose penalties ranging from a fine and points deduction to exclusion from the English Premier League, if breaches are proven in the independent committee’s final decision.

And the club issued an official statement, saying: “Manchester City have been surprised by the publication of these alleged breaches of Premier League rules, particularly in light of the wide turnout and huge amount of detailed documentation which have been provided to the Premier League, and the club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent committee, for them to properly examine it.” is impartial in the full body of compelling evidence that exists to support his position, and as such, we look forward to ending this matter once and for all.”

What is Manchester City accused of?

The Premier League have released an official statement saying City have breached rules which require them to provide accurate information that gives a true picture of the club’s financial situation.

This information covered club revenue, which includes sponsorship revenue and operational costs. Other alleged breaches relate to rules which require full details of Italian coach Roberto Mancini’s salary (from the 2009/2010 to 2012/13 season) and player bonuses between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons.

The English Premier League said City breached financial rules linked to UEFA regulations, including financial fair play for the 2013/14 and 2017/18 seasons, in addition to Premier League profit rules and sustainability for the 2015/16 and 2017/ seasons. 18 seasons.

In 2020, the FA determined that City committed serious breaches of Financial Fair Play rules between 2012 and 2016.

However, the two-season ban from participating in European competitions was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later that year. UEFA launched its investigations into City after German online newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked documents in November 2018 alleging the club had inflated the value of sponsorship deals.

The independent commission, led by Murray Rosen, will be confidential and will be heard in private.

City say the allegations are completely untrue and that the documents released by ‘Der Spiegel’ are from an illegal hack and were published outside the context of the club’s emails.

City were not given advance warning of the issue by the Premier League and were recalled when the official statement was issued, and it is believed the matter will likely be used by the Premier League as proof of their ability. to deal with governance issues themselves.

The English club are confident in their position and this includes the charges which have been dropped by the statute of limitations in the UEFA case, and it is understood that City have provided relevant evidence on these charges to the Premier League more early.

It took 4 years for English Premier League investigations to reach this point, as expectations indicate that the decision on Manchester City will not be soon.

And City will be armed with the best lawyers who will defend each of the breaches listed by the Premier League in their statement, which topped 100 breaches, and the indictment includes 5 years of allegations that City failed to help investigation.

Everything is going to be very expensive in this case, and it will continue. If Manchester City win legally, things will be clear even if the surveillance continues, and if they lose all kinds of penalties can be imposed, so the perimeter of the Premier English League in this sense is completely open, and we are in the uncharted territory of knowledge.
