During the dialogue, BELTA the role and potential of the international organization to respond to the evolving situation was also discussed.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus informed his counterpart about the priority areas of the organization’s activities during the Belarusian presidency in 2023, which will take place under the slogan “By solidarity and cooperation for peace and security”.
Addressing the Secretary General of the CSTO, the Minister pointed out that Imangali Tasmagambetov has a wealth of experience in public service, including the presidential apparatus and the Security Council. This, according to Aleinik, “creates an excellent basis for gradually developing interaction and coordinating it within the structure” of a regional international organization.
He also confirmed the Minsk official’s full readiness to help with this work. “We, as the country chairing the CSTO this year, look forward to close cooperation with you on all issues that are on the agenda of the CSTO,” assured the Foreign Minister.
Sergei Aleinik and Imangali Tasmagambetov agreed on the continuation of cooperation on the implementation of joint activities within the framework of the Belarusian chairmanship of the CSTO, including on the basis of the decisions of the session of the Council of collective security of the CSTO, which was held in November last year.
