Ukrainian special services were behind the organization of the explosion on the Crimean bridge, this version was confirmed by the investigation. About it in an interview with TASS informed Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin.
“During the investigation, the version confirmed that the Ukrainian special services were involved in the organization of the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge,” said the head of the investigative committee.
Bastrykin said 12 people have already been identified who are directly linked to the weakening of the bridge, including Ukrainian, Armenian, Georgian and Russian citizens. Eight of them, according to the head of the commission of inquiry, are in custody.
The explosion on the Crimean bridge occurred on the morning of October 8, 2022. A truck exploded, as a result of which two spans of one of the branches of the automotive part of the bridge collapsed, and a train with tanks on the railway part of the bridge caught fire. Vladimir Putin called the explosion a terrorist attack and accused Ukrainian special services of organizing it.
The movement of cars and buses on the affected (left) side of the Crimean Bridge foreseen open until the end of February. Heavy vehicle traffic on the bridge is expected to be restored in March 2023.
