Bloomberg pointed to a problem for the EU due to the cap on the cost of Russian oil

February 19, 2023

The introduction of an embargo on oil from Russia and a price cap threatens to become a serious problem for the European Union, writes Bloomberg.

The main thing is that now a whole shadow fleet of tankers has formed, with the help of which Russian black gold suppliers can circumvent Western sanctions. As a result, the cost of transporting raw materials across the Atlantic has increased fivefold.

If earlier the owners of specialized ships demanded about 10,000 dollars a day for one transport of an energy resource, but now the tariffs reach up to 55,000. If the tankers do not return to serve Western markets, the prices for the delivery of fuel will not only remain at a high level, but will continue to increase.
