Zelenskyyy approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on sanctions against 333 citizens of the Russian Federation

The text of the decree, published Friday on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine on “special economic and other personal restrictive measures”, refers to the imposition of sanctions against representatives of the financial and banking sector of the Russia.

Among those who fell under the sanctions are top Alfa Bank executives Vladimir Sokolov, Alexei Chukhlov, Ivan Pyatkov, Vladimir Voeikov, businessman Oleg Sysuev. participation in privatization, leasing of state property”.

Earlier, Kiev repeatedly imposed sanctions on Russian politicians, public figures, representatives of culture and art. In early January, Zelenskyyy imposed sanctions on 119 Russian cultural figures, including opera singer Anna Netrebko, philosopher Alexander Dugin, CEO of Rossiya Segodnya media group Dmitry Kiselyov, editor-in-chief of RT television channel Margarita Simonyan, political scientists, singers and comedians. In December 2022, Zelenskyyy imposed sanctions on seven priests of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).

The White House plans to introduce new export controls and a new sanctions package against Russia targeting key industries, Bloomberg reported on Sunday. The new sanctions will target Russia’s defense and energy sectors, financial institutions and several individuals, according to the report.
