February 27, 2023, 7:59 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH – Blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky, who is the husband of former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison. It is reported by TASS.
The corresponding decision was made by the Belarusian court due to Tikhanovski’s repeated disobedience to the employees of the correctional institution.
As clarified by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus, following the results of the court’s consideration of the new case, the blogger was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. At the same time, according to the totality of sentences, Tikhanovsky was imprisoned for 15 years, 9 months and 5 days, which he will serve partly in prison and partly in a strict regime penal colony.
Earlier it was reported that a court in the city of Zhodino had started to consider a new criminal case against opposition leader Sergei Tikhanovski, the wife of presidential candidate in Belarus in 2020 elections Svetlana Tikhanovskaya .
The opponent is currently serving an 18-year sentence in a high-security colony in Mogilev.
