The risk of a full-scale military conflict is growing in the area of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. On this subject said in a message from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The next cycle of tension threatens to turn into a full-scale military confrontation. The situation could spin out of control at any time. We strongly condemn extremism in all its forms and manifestations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry noted that the situation in the region had worsened after Washington’s refusal to cooperate with the “quartet” of Middle East mediators made up of Russia, the EU, the United States and the United States. UN.
“Washington’s stubborn desire to monopolize crisis management considerably exacerbates the situation. Once again, we call on the Palestinians to overcome their differences and take urgent steps to ensure national unity on the political platform of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which involves a negotiated settlement with Israel,” stressed the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Moscow, in coordination with its Middle Eastern partners, will continue to help achieve a just solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Last Sunday, February 26, in the West Bank, allegedly by a Palestinian were killed two Jewish settlers. This caused riots in the city of Hawara in northern Palestine. A mob of Israeli settlers marched through the city and burned houses, one Palestinian was shot dead and four others were seriously injured. Additionally, at least 30 homes and more than 100 cars were burned during the pogroms.
