Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Kremlin called the incident in the Bryansk region a terrorist attack

What happened in the Bryansk region is a terrorist attack. This was stated by press secretary Dmitry Peskov. His statement published in the Telegram channel of the Mayak radio station.
“We are talking about a terrorist attack. Steps are now being taken to destroy these terrorists,” he said.
According to him, President Vladimir Putin is in the Kremlin, he receives constant reports from the heads of the FSB, the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard – Alexander Bortnikov, Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Zolotov. In addition, Putin receives reports from the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, Peskov said.
When asked if the attack on the Bryansk region could be a reason to change the status of the military operation, the Kremlin spokesman replied: “I don’t know. For now, I can’t say.”
Peskov also said that “for obvious reasons” Putin will not go to the Stavropol Territory, where he was supposed to arrive on March 2 to take part in the opening ceremony of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. The president will organize the event by videoconference, underlined the press secretary.
Earlier, mass media and telegram channels reported that in the Bryansk region on the border with Ukraine there was a battle with Ukrainian saboteurs. The FSB said that together with Defense Ministry forces, it was carrying out “measures to destroy armed Ukrainian nationalists who violated the state border”.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff, described as a “classic provocation” the information that a Ukrainian sabotage group had infiltrated Russian territory.
