Al-Ahram: Scientists have discovered a new corridor in the Cheops pyramid in Egypt

March 3, 2023, 04:18 – Public Information Service – TEH – Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Ahmed Isu said a new corridor has been discovered in the famous Cheops pyramid, Al-Ahram writes.
According to the newspaper, the corridor is nine meters long and only two meters wide. It was discovered during a scan of the Giza monuments that began in 2015.
According to Isa, the work was carried out with the cooperation of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt, as well as universities in Germany, Canada, Japan, France and the United States.
It should be noted that the age of the Egyptian pyramid complex of Giza exceeds 4.5 thousand years and is located on the plateau of the same name on the banks of the Nile near Cairo.

Some time ago, scientists from the University of Aix-Marseille managed to solve the mystery of the transport of stones for the construction of the pyramids of Giza. It is noted that the construction of the pyramids required 2.3 million blocks of stone. Each of these blocks weighs about 15 tons.
It turned out that ancient Egyptian engineers used the Nile and its annual floods to create pyramids, tombs and temples on the plateau. With the help of the canal systems and the port complex, stones were transported for construction.
As the Public News Service reported earlier, another moai statue has been discovered on Easter Island in Polynesia.
