The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has appointed Hani Ballan to the esteemed position of Chairman of the Referees Committee. Mr. Ballan will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the AFC’s refereeing regulations and ensuring the highest standards of officiating in the region. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Hani Talib Ballan, member of the Executive Committee of the Qatar Football Association, as Chairman of the AFC Referees Committee, and Mr. Ravshan Irmatov has been appointed as his deputy.

The decision came according to Article 33, paragraph two (f) of the AFC Statutes (2023 edition) and Article 9-9 of the AFC Regulations (2022 edition). This is according to a statement by the Qatar Football Association on its website.

It is noteworthy that Hani Ballan held the position of Vice-Chairman of the Referees Committee in the AFC during the last session from 2018-2023, and his assignment of the task of chairing the committee comes to reinforce the great confidence in his capabilities, arbitration expertise, and his future vision for the development of Asian arbitration for the better.
