On Tuesday, the Syrian Football Association announced that the player Ahmed Al-Saleh, defender of Al-Jaish club and the national team, was suspended for life.
The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Syrian Federation said that the decision was taken against the background of the player’s assault on the referee and spitting on him in a match in the local league.
The Syrian Federation said on Facebook that the suspension of the defender came after the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee reviewed the reports of the referee and observer of the Al-Jaish and Al-Wathba match, on February 3.
He added that Al-Saleh has risen "By kicking the referee, cursing him, and directly spitting on him, kicking him with a plastic chair on the bench, and preventing him from leaving the field after receiving a red card."indicating that the decision to suspend him "It is not final and subject to appeal".
In addition to the life ban, the federation decided to fine Al-Saleh with a sum of one and a half million Syrian pounds ($600).
It is noteworthy that Al-Saleh played in a number of Arab clubs, including the Iraqi police, the Lebanese Al-Ahed, and the Kuwaiti Arab.
