Qatar Foundation is organizing within an initiative "Qatar reads"A reading program for the family in the month of Ramadan. This event will be dedicated to members of the Family Reading Program, in which around 1,050 children have participated. The activities will be centered around the month of Ramadan, and will be as follows: Gathering in the mosque, telling stories, games and questions about Ramadan and Islam, and a tour around a building. "The two lighthouses", arts and crafts (making a paper lantern). Qatar Foundation launched the National Reading Campaign in 2016 with the aim of creating a national movement to raise awareness of the importance of reading and the benefits of reading among all segments of society in the State of Qatar. In 2019, the national reading campaign was launched again under the slogan: "Qatar reads". With the development of the campaign, Qatar Foundation’s vision of what a culture of reading could be, the groups that this campaign should target, the way to reach them, and what can be achieved in order to build a reader society. The result was the “Qatar Reads” initiative, which is a natural and innovative next step in this journey.
