The Minister of Labor holds several meetings with senior officials of the International Labor Organization

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Minister of Labor, held a number of meetings with His Excellency Mr. Gilbert Hongbo, Director General of the International Labor Organization, Ms. Caitlin Bascher, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Labor Organization for Workers, and Mr. Christophe Perrin, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Organization, on the sidelines of the conference. The Governing Council of the International Labor Organization in the Swiss capital, Geneva.

During the meetings, aspects of joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the International Labor Organization were reviewed, and ways to support and develop them during the coming period, especially the initiative to develop capabilities and train specialists in the labor sector in the State of Qatar.

His Excellency highlighted the most important achievements made during the past years through the technical cooperation program between the State of Qatar and the International Labor Organization, and emphasized the interest of the State of Qatar to continue and enhance joint cooperation, especially after the launch of the International Labor Organization office in "United Nations House" officially in Qatar. His Excellency noted the effective partnership with international trade unions in modernizing and improving the work environment and exchanging experiences with regard to the successful experiences that have been implemented, pointing to Qatar’s readiness to provide assistance and expertise to all countries wishing to make a change in the work environment.
