The Kremlin said the West’s reaction to Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow was hostile

October 4, 2025

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the West’s reaction to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia, said the main thing was “the results of those negotiations that took place” and that the words Western politicians “are hostile and deeply hostile”.

Peskov noted that for the Russian Federation, the outcome of Xi Jinping’s state visit remains the main thing.

“As for the reaction of the countries of the collective West, indeed, the fact that on almost all subjects this reaction is hostile and deeply hostile is no secret to anyone. Coverage of this important visit is no exception,” he said.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation also said that Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping exchanged views during the Kremlin talks on the provisions of the Chinese peace plan for Ukraine.

Earlier, Putin said China’s proposed peace plan could form the basis for settling the conflict in Ukraine. However, according to the President of the Russian Federation, it is necessary for the West and Kiev to be ready for this.
