The University Orator Competition, organized by the Qatar Forum for Authors through its initiative “Qatar Speech Scale” in cooperation with Qatar University, was launched today, with more than 70 male and female students from Qatar universities participating. The new version of “Qatar Speech Scale” bears the name "Sahban bin Wael"It targets university students, male and female graduates, to introduce their academic specializations and accurate scientific departments through rhetoric, with the aim of refining the rhetorical and influencing skills of tomorrow’s leaders. The members of Qatar Public Speaking Review reviewed the different types of rhetoric models during the introductory session, where the journalist, Muhammad Al-Shabrawi, introduced a character "Sahban bin Wael"And his place in the world of Arab preachers, and the link between the Arab heritage and the reality of young people. While the writer and trainer, Ibrahim Al-Darmy presented a promotional speech for the Arabic language department as a delicate specialization, and encouraged students to pay attention to the Arabic language and its impact on their lives. The teacher of the national programs, Maryam Al-Subaie, presented a model for this type of rhetoric in the virtual and educational speech of the graduates, and the journalist Abdullah Hamdan participated in the presentation sermon titled “The Brilliant Speaker”. The meeting was concluded by linguistic expert Ahmed Al-Janabi by presenting the standards of rhetoric and the conditions for qualifying among the attendees, and he answered the students’ inquiries regarding the initiative, then the participants were distributed according to the types of rhetoric to start the training next week.
