Khusnullin: Russia plans to build a highway bypassing the Caspian Sea

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said that at the Russia-Islamic World forum: KazanForum, Moscow intends to hold talks with Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan regarding the construction of a road bypassing the Caspian Sea.

“On May 18, we will hold the Kazan Forum, and we certainly plan to discuss the construction of a road bypassing the Caspian Sea with our colleagues from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, and maybe we will sign an agreement,” reports RIA Novosti.

At the end of January, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin paid a working visit to Turkmenistan. After that, it became known that the states are discussing the construction of a joint road project – a highway along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin at a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol said that in 2024 the construction of an automobile ring around the Sea of ‘Azov, which the President of Russia was tasked with creating, will be finished. In addition, according to him, this year the construction of the M-4 Don highway with a bypass of Aksai, as well as a road bypassing Krasnodar, will be completed.
