Devil Benavidez and Caleb Plant will fight in a 22ft x 22ft ring, which is larger than that normally used in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Benavidez and Plant will fight in a 22v22 ring on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena,” BoxingScene reporter Keith Idek explained. “That’s more than the standard 20×20 rings used in Nevada since the mid-90s. Plant’s team requested an exception, which is approved by the NSAC (Nevada Athletic Commission).”
Benavides has mentioned several times that the fight will be difficult, but he will manage to come out on top. A difference of two feet means a little less than a meter.
The winner of this fight will be Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s next contender for the WBC 168lb belt.
