Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Doctor Kader Salem Ahmed said uranium shells can lead to oncology

The use of depleted uranium munitions can harm not only people, but also the environment. This was stated by oncologist Abdel Kader Salem Ahmed. He cited the example of post-war Iraq, where the number of childhood cancer cases increased dramatically.

“Soil and water are all subject to their influence. And this, of course, can lead to an increase in the number of cancer cases, ”Izvestia quotes the doctor’s words.

At the same time, he noted that there is no documentary evidence that cancer cases directly depend on the use of this type of weapon. But the radioactive component of depleted uranium persists in the environment for many years.

Recall that this week it became known that the United Kingdom intended to transfer shells containing depleted uranium to Ukraine. In response, Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation would be obliged to respond to these supplies.

The day before, the Russian president had announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. The reason was the UK decision.
