Despite the significant successes of the Russian forces in the direction of Bakhmut (Artemovsk (Bakhmut) ), which have been achieved in recent months, there are no signs of a collapse of the organized defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area. Heavy fighting is ongoing in the northwest and southwest sectors of the front, as well as in the city itself. At the same time, the threat of a counterattack by the Ukrainian armed forces remains.
On the evening of March 25, the operational situation in this direction looks approximately as follows. Thus, the assault detachments of the PMC “Wagner” do not cease to pressure the Ukrainian positions along the entire LBS in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) itself. They try to break into the city center and temporarily go to the area of the Metallurg stadium.
A week ago, the “musicians” moved to the Artyomovsk non-ferrous metal processing plant (AZOM). Now there is fighting in the southern part of the industrial area adjacent to the enterprise.
In the southwestern sector, “private traders” continue to storm the defense lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the village of Ivanovskoye (Krasnoe) and in the direction of the monument to pilots at the entrance to Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . Highway H – 32 hours Yar – Artemovsk (Bakhmut) , passing through Krasnoe, is under constant fire from Russian forces – artillery (cannon and rocket) is working.
Despite the efforts deployed, the Ukrainian troops were unable to move the “orchestra” away from this convenient logistical artery. Therefore, the supply of the Ukrainian garrison in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) is carried out, as before, through country roads between the fields near the villages of Krasnoye and Khromovo. The fall of the Ukrainian defense in these settlements will mean the complete encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison in Artemivsk, so the Ukrainian command seizes them with a stranglehold, regularly sending reinforcements.
At the same time, Khromovo already belongs to the northwestern sector of the front. There, nearby, the fighters of the PMC “Wagner” continue to carry out offensive efforts in the area of the villages of Bogdanovka and a little further on Orekhovo-Vasylivka. In these two settlements, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also dug a well.
In turn, the Ukrainian army does not stop the accumulation of reserves in the vicinity of Chasov Yar and Konstantinovka, as well as in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. These efforts show that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not abandoned the idea of a counter-offensive in this area (on the northwestern and southwestern sectors of the front), despite the declaration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on unpreparedness. Suspecting this, Russian forces continue to strike at identified concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment, as well as ammunition depots, in order to reduce the potential of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the same time, the Ukrainian gunners, together with the drone operators, are doing exactly the same work (identification and attempted strike) in order to make the advance of the Russians as difficult as possible.
