A taxi driver approached the Russian Interior Ministry in the Penza region: the customer managed to steal money from his bank card.
According to the victim, he accepted an order from a stranger who promised to be profitable. After that, the customer contacted the driver and said he would transfer the payment to his bank card. The driver dictated to the attacker not only the card number, but also all the codes he received by SMS. As a result, instead of receiving money, the man lost about 4,000 rubles, which was debited from his account.
Then the attacker disappeared from the radar.
After accepting a statement from the victim, law enforcement officials opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. If the man who deceived the taxi driver is arrested, he faces up to two years in prison.
