The plane landed on the ice in the Maloe More Strait in the territory of the Pribaikalsky National Park. The liner was noticed from the shore by inspectors of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Zapovednoe Pribaikalye”. They went to the plane to determine the reason for the landing. The passengers explained that they arrived from Novosibirsk, they planned to have lunch on the island of Olkhon.
FGBU inspectors wrote an administrative report, after which the offenders left the territory of the national park.
Airplanes are prohibited from landing on the ice of Lake Baikal without prior permission, as they can cause harm to birds and other animals, the federal state budget institution “Baikal Reserved Region” explained.
