Russian air defense for the first time shot down a new Ukrainian operational-tactical missile “Grom-2”. This was stated during a briefing by the official representative of the RF Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov.
The military department reported that during the past day, three rockets from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system were also intercepted and two Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the areas of Zeleny Gai and Novoandreevka (DPR) settlements.
Thunder is an operational-tactical missile system, which after the collapse of the USSR was developed by the Ukrainian design bureau Yuzhnoye in Dnepropetrovsk. The claimed range of the Grom missile is 50-500 km.
