Daniil Medvedev’s opponent in the Miami tournament final was Italian Yannick Sinner

The second participant in the final of the Masters series tournament in Miami was Italian tennis player Yannick Sinner, who is ranked 11th in the ATP rankings.

In the semi-finals, in a tense three-hour match, he dominated the world’s first racket Carlos Alcaras – 6: 7 (4: 7), 6: 4, 6: 2. The Spaniard, by the way, lost this title due to the loss and will miss Serbian Novak Djokovic on the front row of the standings.

Earlier, Daniil Medvedev proved stronger in the Russian semifinals. He beat his compatriot Karen Khachanov – 7:6 (7:5), 3:6, 6:3.

The final will take place on Sunday 2 April. Game time will be announced later.

The Miami tournament final was Medvedev’s fifth straight in five possible tournaments. Thus, the Russian became the first player since 2006 to have managed to reach five tournament finals before the start of the clay court season. The last person to do something like this was Swiss tennis master Roger Federer.
