The Kremlin said nuclear weapons are deployed in Belarus to balance security in Europe

October 3, 2025

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that nuclear weapons are deployed in Belarus in order to balance the security architecture in Europe.

According to him, NATO is expanding towards Russian borders, not the other way around. This expansion of the alliance’s infrastructure gives Moscow trouble and security concerns.

“Naturally, we take steps to ensure that, and whenever NATO approaches our borders, to rebalance the entire security architecture on the continent,” Peskov said.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Western countries are focused on bringing Ukraine closer to NATO standards.

And expert Parkhalina, in an interview with Zvezda, called Finland a “donor” to NATO.
