A festive service was held in the Pskov detention center on the occasion of the Annunciation

The festive divine service took place in the SIZO of Pskov during the religious holiday of the Annunciation on April 7. This was reported to “The Eastern Herald in Pskov” in the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Pskov region.

The event was organized by the rector of the Church of Non-Mercenary Saints Cosmas and Damian, priest Mikhail Fedorov. Prisoners could come to the Church of Anastasia the Pattern Maker, pray, light candles, and talk to the priest.

Before the start of the service, he urgently told the convicts how this holiday appeared, what it is connected with and what traditions exist. In conclusion, the priest visited several cells in the isolation ward and spoke with the prisoners, presented body crosses and church souvenirs.
