Arbor Day was held in Rostov-on-Don on April 8. As part of the campaign, two memorial alleys have appeared in Levoberezhny Park. Now the “Alley of Honored Professors of the Russian Federation” has appeared in Levoberezhny Park. There are 15 personalized pins dedicated to outstanding Don Capital teachers on the site. With their students, honored teachers took the stage.
- This is an interesting and lively project. Nothing happens without a teacher. I am proud that the Alley of Teachers appeared in Rostov, that we have such a respectful attitude to the teaching profession, – said Valentina But.
We have not forgotten the “Walk of Sports Glory” located at the central entrance to the park. Ten other new named trees have been planted there. Plants shone Rostov Olympic champions. Three of the athletes themselves got in on the action. The event brought together: gold and bronze medalist in fencing Larisa Korobeynikova, gold medalist in team foil Svetlana Boyko and handball champion of the Russian team Vladlena Bobrovnikova.
The participants pointed out that the action had aroused a lot of positive emotions.
- I am very happy to now have a tree on this Walk of Fame. I want as many representatives of my sport as possible to plant trees here. And the alley grew and grew, – said Larisa Korobeynikova.
In 2023, Levoberezhny Park will be five years old. Its opening in 2018 was timed to coincide with the FIFA,Football,Soccer World Cup. There are already 800 trees planted there, including 50 new pines that appeared on Arbor Day.
- These are selected plants. Such trees have already been planted here and they have taken root. In addition, conifers remain green even in winter and noticeably enliven the urban landscape, Alexey Logvinenko emphasized.
The head of administration of Rostov pointed out that on April 8 the action took place throughout the city. Several memorable alleys appeared in the Don capital at once.
- On the territories of schools, schoolchildren have traced the Alleys dedicated to the heroic pages of our history. Alley of Doctors appeared in May Day Park, and Alley of Peace and Kindness appeared in Sobino Park. In addition, national and cultural associations of the Don capital have planted the Alley of National Friendship in Ostrovsky Park, – said Alexey Logvinenko.
As part of the campaign, 3.7 thousand new trees and 5.4 thousand shrubs were planted in Rostov. The event brought together around 6,000 people. Musical and methodological support has been organized for those on site.
