Trump’s defense will seek to clear all charges against him

April 9, 2023

Donald Trump’s attorney, Jim Trusty, says the defense will seek to dismiss the recent indictment against the former US president, ABC reports.

Motions to dismiss should take precedence because they “amputate that miscarriage of justice right from the start,” Trusty said. He also mentioned other “very serious requests” on issues that could include the statute of limitations and more.

The attorney said the defense was focused on the motions, not his client’s aggressive rhetoric against the Manhattan judge and prosecutor. Trusty added that the defense could try to change the Manhattan County Court, which is “a bastion of liberalism and activism” “infecting the whole process.”

The former White House chief was indicted on April 4 on 34 counts, including financial forgery and document falsification. The maximum sentence for the cumulative charges against Trump is 136 years in prison.

The former White House chief himself has said that Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg serves the interests of current US leader Joe Biden. And the charges against him are political persecution and interference in the presidential elections scheduled for 2024.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to any of the charges. According to the lawyer, the former head of state is very upset by the current situation, but remains steadfast.

Trump’s defense will seek to have all charges against him appear on Trending Articles for the first time.
