How informed Radio Sputnik, nutritionist Alexei Kovalkov, in an interview with journalists, warned citizens against excessive sweets, since this habit can lead to the formation of psychological hunger.
The expert explained that physiological hunger differs from psychological hunger by a gradual increase in appetite, moreover, any food can satisfy it. As psychological hunger unexpectedly flares up, at the same time a person may be attracted to a particular product, for example, mouth or sausage.
“Psychological hunger arises due to a lack of endorphins, not calories… If you overindulge in fatty and sugary foods, then the natural way of producing endorphins in the body will stop working. And we will experience a hunger that cannot be satisfied,” Kovalkov warned.
