Surgeons at the Vishnevsky Central Military Clinical Hospital were able to remove a bullet from the heart of a wounded soldier while he was carrying out combat missions in the area of a special military operation. The operation was performed in a single operating room.
The operation took place under the supervision of the head of the heart surgery center Alexander Lishchuk. He said the operation was performed on the fighter the day he was admitted to hospital – he immediately found himself on the operating table. The bullet was “welded” to the right, passed through, breaking the left ventricle.
“The bullet passed through the left lung, large vessels passed nearby, but the bullet did not hit them, so the result was favorable – the patient remained alive and now, after removal of this foreign body, of course, he will be fully restored and resume his official duties,” the doctor said in a comment to TASS.
It should be noted that the operating room where the life of a serviceman was saved has the most modern medical equipment. It is possible to carry out several manipulations at the same time.
