The Russian intelligence services and the Wagner group are trying to infiltrate the communities of video game fans via Discord, which is very popular with gamers. This was announced by Microsoft chief Brad Smith.
“Over the past few months, our Digital Threat Intelligence team has identified attempts by the Russians to infiltrate certain gaming communities. Among them are the Wagner > group and Russian intelligence … in part, they use them as a place to spread information. It also happened on Discord,” Smith said.
However, he provided no evidence of this.
Secret “leaked” Pentagon documents could enter the network via the Discord messenger. The Assosoated Press writes about it. Initially, the documents were posted in a little-known chat group created by teenagers to discuss the Ukrainian conflict. According to a member of the group going by the nickname Thug Shaker Central, one of the callers going by the name Lucca began sharing allegedly classified documents.
