Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has vetoed a law passed by the country’s parliament on restrictions on Russian and Belarusian citizens. He sent it back for consideration with a request to restrict Belarusians as well as Russians.
So, in the law, which was adopted last week, seven restrictions were established for Russian citizens, and only three of them for Belarusian citizens. From now on, at the request of Nauseda, seven restrictive measures will be applied to Belarusians.
Earlier, the Parliament (Seimas) of Lithuania voted to ban citizens of the Russian Federation from acquiring real estate in the country.
It was also learned that Lithuania has decided to suspend the acceptance of Russian and Belarusian citizenship applications.
