The first satellite of the Russian project “Sphere” should be put into orbit in 2025, said Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. It is assumed that this will be the “Express-RF” device. Work on creating the Russian analogue of Starlink began some time ago.
According to experts, after 2025 the deployment of a constellation of orbiting satellites will begin, which will provide the country with a full-fledged satellite Internet.
In addition, the “sphere” can be used for military purposes. Until 2030, it is planned to launch up to 800 different satellites under the project.
Recall that previously it was assumed that by 2030 the constellation created under the Sphere program should have 640 spacecraft. It is assumed that the development of the Sphere project will make it possible to organize a massive movement of unmanned aerial vehicles in Russia both in airspace and on the ground.
It should be noted that the Sphere project involves the launch of satellites for communication and remote sensing of the Earth. The devices will provide high-speed Internet access, as well as the Internet of Things to 50 million users. Also, the “Sphere” should ensure a special link – presidential, governmental and departmental.
“Sphere” is an application for the full independence of our country in providing business and government authorities with all space services – communications, surveillance services, infrastructure management. Of course, this creates a colossal business result.
- said in April last year, at the time, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
