The Arab League calls for an immediate halt to escalation and an immediate bloodshed in Sudan

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States expressed deep concern and annoyance about the current combat operations between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and other areas, calling for the need to stop the escalation and stop bloodshed immediately.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League, stressed, in a statement today, the responsibility of the warring parties to preserve the security and safety of Sudanese civilians in the fighting areas and throughout the country, adding that the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States is ready to intervene with the parties to stop the escalation and stop bloodshed.

In turn, the Arab Parliament expressed its concern about the ongoing developments in Sudan, especially the combat operations currently taking place between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and other areas.

In a statement today, the Arab Parliament called on all Sudanese parties to exercise maximum restraint and an immediate ceasefire to protect the lives of the Sudanese people and preserve the capabilities of the state. He also called on all parties to bear in mind the higher interests of the Sudanese people, and to work on everything that preserves the security and stability of Sudan.
