Folk fun with last year’s grass fires continues to be a headache for Kostroma firefighters.
Yesterday, April 15, firefighters had to urgently go to a fire on Moskovskaya Street, where the fire came dangerously close to an automated gas station. There was a lot of last year’s grass there, which had dried up in the last few days – and now from someone’s un-extinguished cigarette (or a specially brought match?) it popped like gunpowder – so that the inhabitants of Kostroma could see the glow of fire and clouds of smoke for several kilometers.
Fortunately, the firefighters worked quickly – firefighters who arrived at the gas station in time stopped the spread of fire near the station itself. So there were no casualties or damage…
But the day before, April 14, in a gardening partnership near Nerekhta, it didn’t work out. There, because of the fallen grass, which reached the gardening company, two garden sheds burned down (on this day, thank God, they were empty).
