The ophthalmologist recommends eye-friendly products

Valentina Merkulova, an ophthalmologist at the online health management service Budu, recommended several types of products that have a beneficial effect on human vision, reports Moslenta.

First, the expert singled out orange-colored vegetables and fruits.

Also, according to Merkulova, in order to maintain and improve friction, it is recommended to consume more foods containing vitamins, carotenoids, trace elements and omega-3 fatty acids.

“Good for the eyes: fish, meat, eggs, nuts, legumes, citrus fruits, green vegetables, orange vegetables and fruits, olives, olive oil and dairy products,” she said.

It is also recommended to consume green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, parsley, peas, pumpkin and pistachios. Another source of substances beneficial to vision is egg yolk. Merkulova noted that these substances help protect the retina from exposure to ultraviolet rays, that is, from phone and computer screens.

The expert noted that it is recommended to get omega-3 fatty acids from fatty sea fish, fish oil, seafood, flax seeds and chia seeds. They are also found in vegetable oils – flax, camelina, mustard, hemp, rapeseed, as well as in spinach and seaweed.

The ophthalmologist described the Mediterranean diet as extremely beneficial, which includes the consumption of large amounts of cereals, olive oil, fruits, legumes and vegetables, a moderate consumption of saturated fats, a moderate to high in chicken and fish, with a very limited red meat content. .

The doctor also stressed the need for a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity for those who want to preserve their sight.
