The Communist Party of the Russian Federation has decided to nominate the grandson of party leader Gennady Zyuganov Leonid as the party’s candidate for mayor of Moscow. This was stated by First Deputy Chairman of the Communist Party Central Committee Yuri Afonin, informed CASS.
According to him, on April 19, a meeting of the personnel commission of the presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was held, where the candidates for the posts of governor and legislative assembly, including the mayors of Moscow , were discussed. “After discussion, we have decided to unanimously recommend Leonid Zyuganov, member of the Moscow City Committee Bureau, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Committee for Science and Industry, for this position,” said Afonin.
The Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation noted that Leonid Zyuganov “behind two summonses to the City Duma, he knows Moscow’s problems well and has support from inside the party.” Afonin added that the communist leader’s grandson is “a young, bright and promising candidate who has enough authority and experience for such a campaign”.
By data “Vedomosti”, the decision to appoint Leonid Zyuganov as a candidate for the post of mayor of the capital was made by the personnel commission under the presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, headed by Afonin. A Vedomosti source close to the presidential administration said that the decision of the personnel commission under the Presidium of the Central Committee cannot be considered final, since now, in particular, agreements with all interested structures have not yet been concluded .
