Mathura. Keeping in view the local body elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission has banned the carrying of cash amount of two lakh rupees or more.
If two lakh rupees or more in cash is found in the possession of a person, and no record is produced regarding the same, it will be presumed that this money was being carried by that person for bribing voters and such In that case the amount will be confiscated and action will be taken against the person under relevant provisions. Information about this action will also be given to the Income Tax Department.
District Magistrate Pulkit Khare said that the preparations have been intensified for the successful completion of the urban body general elections. Training is also being started for the officials related to the election, along with raids are also being conducted on unauthorized activities.
