Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov, appointed by Kiev authorities, said that Russia is evacuating the population from the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, which is under its control. According to a Ukrainian official, the evacuation of the Russian population is due to the start of a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian army.

We cannot yet say that a mass evacuation from the Zaporizhzhia region has started, but the fact that there is a trend towards the start of evacuation is a fact,” the Ukrainian official said.

This information is not confirmed by official Russian sources. However, according to Ukrainian media, one of the possible directions of the announced spring offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the Zaporizhzhia region.

Earlier, Glavny Regionalny reported that Ukrainian Armed Forces troops occupied part of the gray zone along the frontline. According to the acting head of the Zaporizhzhia region Yevhen Balitsky, the situation is under control.
