Over the past six months, Russian ships have delivered more than 300,000 artillery shells from Iran across the Caspian Sea to the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal with reference to US officials.
According to the publication, in addition to ammunition for artillery systems, Russia brought from Iran one million rounds of small arms cartridges. Similar information had already been announced by the British television channel SkyNews. True, according to British journalists, the Russian Federation imported 100 million cartridges and 300 thousand different bullets from Iran. These included artillery and tank ammunition, as well as rockets, mortar mines and grenade launcher fire.
It is unclear which of the Western media is right in this matter, but the fact that Iran provided military assistance has long been known. The Islamic Republic is currently one of Russia’s main allies and partners.
And in exchange for ammunition, he receives fighter jets from the Russian Federation.
The United States and its partners should hardly be surprised by such cooperation. Western policy toward Iran has practically pushed Tehran into the arms of Moscow. In this regard, reports on the supply of artillery ammunition from Iran seem quite logical.
And the fact that the United States and its allies do not like these deliveries will probably not be taken into account when discussing the terms of cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
