The State Duma wants to reduce the salaries of deputies

– Published on:

The draft law on the assimilation of the salaries of people’s deputies to the national average has been submitted to the State Duma, reports the DEITA.RU news agency.

Such an interesting initiative was taken by a group of deputies of the State Duma, in particular, Mikhail Delyagin, Yaroslav Nilov and Sergei Mironov. The deputies representing the will of the people are most often terribly far from it. Unlike ordinary citizens, they have incomparably higher salaries and pensions.

“We need to be closer to the people not only in words, but also in deeds,” said the authors of the initiative and proposed to fix the average salary of State Duma deputies and senators of the country. This, according to Rosstat, is 64,000 rubles for 2022.

Mikhail Delyagin doubts whether the law will be adopted, however, he notes that in addition to the usual pension, State Duma deputies also receive a bonus – from 40 to 75% of their salary, depending on the length of service service in the State Duma.
