Since May 1, AvtoVAZ has raised prices for Lada cars by an average of 2%, reports PRIME. According to the agency, the president of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, spoke about the increase at the end of April.

He pointed out that by the end of 2023, the price increase of branded models will not exceed the rate of inflation. It is expected at the level of 5.3%, previously noted in the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development.

This price increase for Lada was already the second in 2023. This happened for the first time in March, when the cost of cars also increased by an average of 2%.

AvtoVAZ has production sites in Togliatti, Izhevsk and St. Petersburg. In May 2022, the French company Renault transferred its stake in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to Russian state ownership. There are currently four Lada model families: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. At the end of 2022, the brand’s sales fell by 46% compared to the previous year and amounted to 188.6 thousand cars.

Earlier it was reported that car experts were noting significant changes in the market compared to even 2022. Used car prices have increased significantly – in some cases by a third, new car prices have also increased increased, but less. The first process is associated with an increased demand for cars with a history, the second – with the arrival of new dealers on the Russian market.
