According to the British information network “Sky News”, Adrian Keogh, 37, had difficulty getting off the plane after landing at Gothenburg Landvetter airport in Sweden.
Adrian said he noticed the lack of any landing aids, and he found himself having to get on the plane to crawl and support himself on his arms and legs.
People with special needs need elevators to get on and off the plane.
Keough said he “paid extra for a priority landing, but experienced an unacceptable delay” in assistance after the plane arrived.
“After I arrived I was told it would take at least an hour before they could bring me a lift. But I was so desperate to go to the bathroom that I had no other choice. than crawling,” he added.
He continued, “My brother wanted to help me but it wasn’t safe. Eventually I reached the end of the stairs and got myself into a wheelchair.”
Keogh called on airports and airlines to take more action for determined people.
A Ryanair spokesperson told Sky News that special assistance at the airport is handled by a third party and not the airline.
“We regret that Landvetter Airport did not provide special assistance to this passenger,” he added.
The airport also commented on the incident, apologizing for what happened and said the delay was due to another medical emergency.
